Lux perpetua luceat eis.

As everyone is aware by now, Madeline L'Engle has passed away. In lieu of saying anything eloquent about her (because everyone's got that more than covered) I thought to share this poem, which her book A Swiftly Tilting Planet inspired years ago. I think I've posted it here once before, a couple years ago, under a hefty filter. Today seems like a good time for it to finally make a less restricted appearance.

Ananda

I am dance and I am danger
I am song of crystal sphere
I am effortless and ancient
Fathomless and without fear

I am call of horns triumphant
I am blade and I am bell
I am spray of heaven's fountains
Water from its deepest well

I am breath and ebbless beauty
I am wind and I am wild
I am true and transcendental
Infinite and undefiled

I am soaring, swift, celestial
I am songs you almost sing
I am unexpressed, eternal
Every beat of every wing

I am flight and I am falling
I am gold and gloria
I am leaping, light and laughter
Fire and euphoria

I've read this before, but...oh.

Beautiful.
